Katie Andrews Potter is the person behind Wildwood Writing – a dream come true for a lifelong writer and longtime educator.
A little background…
Katie holds a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and is a current student in the Creative Writing MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University.
Katie worked for many years in Special Education. She has taught online English as a Second Language for over two years. She has taught thousands of students from around the world. She is enrolled at the Institute of Children’s Literature in the Writing for Children & Teens mentored program. In addition, she is in training to be a children’s yoga teacher. She is always a student of the teaching of writing.
Katie is the author of a number of books, including two YA novels and a children’s picture book. She is always writing and has two more YA novels in the works, as well as a series of children’s books. Her books can be found on Amazon.
Katie has been married to her husband Ben for 13 years, and they have three children whom they homeschool: Ellie, Micah, and Silas. They live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and share their home with many cats and dogs. Katie loves hiking, yoga, reading, and of course, writing.
Why WIldwood Writing?
There is great intrinsic value in writing and its ability to grow and heal us. Nature, too, has the ability to grow and heal us. The two are uniquely tied together. Wildwood Writing aims to foster children’s and families’ growth through the written word and the power of story.
